CCL 2024: Points table after all 8 teams have played 3 out of 4 group stage matches
Jisshu Senguptha will want to hold on to the No.2 position on the points table that his Bengal Tigers are at now

This weekend, the final group stages of CCL 2024 will play out in Chandigarh and Thiruvananthapuram. On March 9, the Bengal Tigers, Bhojpuri Dabanggs, Mumbai Heroes and Punjab De Sher will be in Chandigarh, while all the south teams head to Thiruvananthapuram for their last matches on March 10. On March 8, the Bengal Tigers and the Punjab De Sher team, which were the only two left that hadn’t played a third match, took on each other, with the former emerging victor and causing a major change on the points table.

The Karnataka Bulldozers, with 3 out of 3 wins are sitting pretty at the top of the table and are a direct shoo in into the qualifiers, but it’s position 2-6 that’s still up in the air. At the end of last weekend’s matches, the Bulldozers were followed by the Chennai Rhinos, Telugu Warriors and Mumbai Heroes as the top 4 teams.

Last night, the Bengal Tigers changed this after beating Punjab De Sher and registering a net run rate that put them at number 2 and knocked the Heroes out of the top 4. Now, that is not a position that Riteish Deshmukh is going to be very happy about, making the matches of March 9 and 10 important for everyone but the Bhojpuri Dabanggs and Punjab De Sher.

CCL 2024: Not Vizag, but THIS city to host play-offs and finale

Manoj Tiwari’s team, which was runner-up in CCL 2023, has the ignominy of having lost all its group stage matches so far and being knocked out of the tournament already. Punjab De Sher had also lost all three matches, but then they are still novices in the tournament. Today, on March 9, the Bengal Tigers play Bhojpuri Dabanggs and the Mumbai Heroes the Punjab De Sher team. The Tigers and Heroes are expected to go all out and ensure wins with big margins that will push them up or down the points table.

CCL 2024: Karnataka Bulldozers skipper Pradeep says, ‘Ee sala cup namde’

The Kerala Strikers, who are currently at 6th position, after that stunning 1-run victory over the Telugu Warriors, could cause some upheaval if they do a repeat with the Chennai Rhinos in their match on March 10. The cricketing action on March 9 and 10 is going to be high-octane because the rules stipulate that only the top 4 teams make it to the next stage, which will also be played in Thiruvananthapuram. Even if the Bengal Tigers, Chennai Rhinos, Telugu Warriors and Mumbai Heroes win their next matches, it will all come down to whoever has the better net run rate.
