CBI 5: The Brain hit theatres on May 1 starring Mammootty in the lead, reprising his iconic role
CBI 5: The Brain, starring Mammootty again in the iconic role of Sethurama Iyer, has hit theatres. As the movie is pulling in fans from all corners, the actor has talked about a possible sixth instalment during a promotional event.
According to the Times of India, the actor said that he has talked to writer S.N Swamy and director K Madhu to possibly make a sixth movie, where the character will investigate another case, which is not a murder.
Giving a twist to the usual formula of the series, the movie could possibly see the officer investigate a scam or a robbery case. The actor said that he hopes that if a sixth insalment is made, the character will investigate such a case. Reportedly, the actor said that the team has not thought about making a sixth movie in the iconic franchise as of yet.
K Madhu had earlier said in an interview with Kaumudy Movies that the possibilities of a sixth movie will depend on the success of CBI 5: The Brain. The movie however, has hinted at further insalments.
Written by Swamy and directed by Madhu, CBI 5 made Rs. 4.45 crores on its first day of release. Apart from Mammotty in the lead, the movie also has Mukesh, Saikumar, and Jagathy Sreekumar reprising their roles in the movie. Jagathy, who has not appeared in movies since his road accident leading to paralysis, was received once again with warm hearts by the audience.
Dileesh Pothan, Soubin Shahir, Kaniha, Ramesh Pisharody, Sudev Nair, and Ansiba Hassan are actors who are the new faces in the franchise. The movie is available in theatres.
