The Itaewon Class actor will reportedly join Brie Larson after the shoot of his current project, Concrete Utopia,
South Korean star Park Seo-Joon, who had starred in hit shows such as Itaewon Class and What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim, will reportedly make his big Hollywood debut with the upcoming Captain Marvel sequel titled The Marvels, which has Brie Larson reprising her superhero character.
The news of Seo-Joon’s casting was let out earlier today, by a website claiming that the actor will leave for the US as soon as he completes the shoot of his Korean thriller Concrete Utopia. The agency handling the Korean star, who had also played a cameo in Parasite, however, said they had no comments when they were approached for confirmation.
Incidentally, another South Korean star, Ma Dong-seok aka Don Lee, is also part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He plays Gilgamesh, the strongest Eternal and partner of Angelina Jolie’s Thena, in the upcoming movie, Eternals. The film directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Chloe Zhao also has Gemma Chan, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden and Kit Harrington along with Kumail Nanjiani.
Meanwhile, the Marvels, which is slotted for a November 22 release, began production last month. Larson has been training hard to reprise her superhero character in the series, which will also have her teaming up with Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau and Iman Vellani’s Ms Marvel.
Iman’s Ms Marvel aka Kamala Khan, who has shape-shifting abilities, will be introduced in the series titled Ms Marvel, which will also feature cameos by Captain Marvel and Rambeau. According to reports, the series’ story will tie-in to The Marvels, directed by Nia DaCosta.
