Captain America actor Frank Grillo to star in the actioner Hounds of War

Frank Grillo, known for his roles in Captain America and The Purge will star in the action film Hounds of War. Lowell Dean, who has helmed Wolf Cop and Supergrid before, will direct the film scripted by Jean Pierre Magro.

The plotline revolves around a group of mercenaries who take on jobs that seem impossible. After one of these impossible missions goes wrong to an unexpected betrayal, only one mercenary makes it out alive. Now he must avenge the dead ones who happen to be his brothers.

Dean Devlin's Electric Entertainment, known for Independence Day: Resurgence, will distribute the movie internationally. The movie has been co-produced by Shayne Putzlocher of Trilight Entertainment along with Jean Pierre Magro, Pedja Miletic, and Aaron Briffa of Jaggurnaught. Frank Grillo, Polina Pushkareva, and Nika Finch are the executive producers.

Frank Grillo’s presence in the film is great value addition, said Nolan Pielak, senior vice president of International Distribution at Electric Entertainment. He added that the actor’s international popularity and the growing interest in action films will work in favour of Hounds of War.

Putzlocher concurred with him, praising Grillo’s commitment to the script and his experience in the action genre. The filming will begin at the end of this year in Malta.
