The actor-filmmaker said that announcements about the Kiranraj directorial will happen soon.
Rakshit Shetty’s 777 Charlie was supposed to be a December 31, 2021 release. The songs that had been released were a big hit and it seemed that the film was on course to meet this date with audiences. But then, updates ceased and there was radio silence from the team for a while, during which time the buzz in Gandhinagar circles was that the film would be pushed ahead to facilitate better planning and execution of its proposed pan-India release, especially with regard to the Hindi version. While there was no confirmation from the makers on that front, there was a postponement announcement subsequently. In the two months since, there’s barely been a squeak from the team, until today, that is.
Earlier today, Rakshit took to social media that the trailer of 777 Charlie would be here soon. He wrote, “The trailer of #777Charlie is ready and how it looks 😍 Amazing job @Kiranraj61 @pratheek_dbf and @Rakshith_kaup… Can’t wait for the world to watch this beauty… @ParamvahStudios #BigAnnouncements #ComingSoon.”
Director Kiranraj K’s film, which follows the protagonist Dharma, played by Rakshit, and a dog called Charlie, was censored in late January and awarded a U/A certification. The cast includes Sangeetha Sringeri, Raj B Shetty, Danish Sait and Tamil actor Bobby Simha in significant roles. Produced by GS Gupta and Rakshit Shetty’s Paramvah Studios, the film has Nobin Paul as composer and Arvind Kashyap handling the camerawork.
The team, we hear, was waiting for 100% occupancy of theatres and the schedule of the other big-ticket films that were lined up to plan 777 Charlie’s release. Now that everyone, except Vikrant Rona has a release date in sight, Rakshit and team are expected to figure out a window for themselves too.
