Kamal Haasan walked the Cannes red carpet alongside Indian music composer AR Rahman, actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui and R Madhavan
Kamal Haasan's latest multilingual action-thriller Vikram will hit the screens on June 3. The trailer debuted at the Cannes Film Festival 2022, before the film’s public screening. The two minute-39 second-trailer received a thunderous response from the audience present in the vicinity. Vikram stars Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Chemban Vinod, and Narain, and is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj of Kaithi fame. Anirudh Ravichander composed the music for the film.
For the uninitiated, Haasan is a member of the Indian delegation at Cannes, which is led by Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur. Ulaganayagan walked the Cannes red carpet alongside Indian music composer AR Rahman, actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui and R Madhavan, and others, according to a report by India TV.
Ever since Kamal Haasan went to attend the Cannes Film Festival to promote Vikram, he has been sharing pictures of himself on social media. His costumes are styled by Amritha Ram. Apart from being roped in as the designer for Indian 2 starring Kamal, she is also part of the actor’s new clothing line KH House of Khaddar’s core team, which aims to promote sustainable handloom products.
She tells The News Minute, “I’ve found the biggest teacher in Kamal Haasan sir. He knows so much about fabrics, fashion trends and construction that there’s constant learning.”
Amritha was responsible for Kamal Haasan's look on the reality show, Bigg Boss Tamil 4. She told Deccan Herald, “Designing for Kamal sir is an experience in itself. He is an encyclopaedia (of knowledge) and it was like he was the boss while I served as the intern. He is open to suggestions and discusses everything. I go with a certain design/fabric; colours and he adds his touch to them.”
So, who would she like to style from Bollywood? “Amit ji! (Amitabh Bachchan) With his cool and casual and stylish demeanour, he is the first one to come to my list. And Ranveer Singh, of course. It’s my dream to style him. The kind of confidence with which he carries each look is phenomenal. His submission to every look is something every designer and stylist dreams of. I do believe in dreaming. Dreams come true,” she told The New Indian Express.
Vikram will have a special premiere screening in the United States on June 2.
Director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s film comes on the back of two hits—Kaithi and Master—and expectations are massive for the project, which is produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies.
