Can Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 get any better? Vidya Balan rejoins the horror-comedy with Kartik Aaryan

Vidya Balan was seen as the iconic character of Manjulika in the 2007 blockbuster horror-comedy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

In 2007, Akshay Kumar headlined Priyadarshan's horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The film also starred Vidya Balan in dual roles, Avanti and the evil spirit Manjulika. The film was a hit amongst the audience and is still considered one of the most-loved films of Akshay and Vidya.

15 years later, when Anees Bazmee took the franchise ahead with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 starring Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu, it became a super-hit film too. However, what we missed in the sequel was Vidya Balan and her iconic performance of Manjulika. However, there's good news for all the OG Manjulika fans out there. Keep reading!

Vidya Balan is back as Manjulika

Vidya Balan is all set to return for part three. It was earlier reported that Tabu is not too keen to step into the character of Manjulika so early as it’s very close to her but the makers are keen to bring the film on the floors. And today, on 12th February, Kartik Aaryan took to his social media account and announced that Balan is coming back in the third installment of the franchise.

Sharing the video of the famous song, 'Mere Dholna', with combined clip of Vidya and Kartik dancing, the actor announced that the actress is returning to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. He wrote in the caption: "And its happening 🔥 Og Manjulika is coming back to the world of BhoolBhulaiyaa Super thrilled to welcome @balanvidya ❤️‍🔥 This Diwali is going to be crackling #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 🤙🏻👻"

This announcement comes as a big surprise for all of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa fans out there regarding the movie. It would be wonderful to see Vidya Balan's Manjulika character, which we already adore, team up with Kartik, who has already won us over with his outstanding performance as Rooh Baba, to create magic on the big screen. The anticipation for the movie only heightened after this news.

For the uninitiated, Bhool Bhulaiyaa was released in the year 2007 starring Akshay Kumar as Dr. Aditya "Adi" Shrivastav, Vidya Balan in the dual roles as the evil spirit Manjulika and the sweet and simple Avni S. Chaturvedi. The film also starred Shiney Ahuja in dual roles as Siddharth Chaturvedi & Raja Vibhuti Narayan. The versatile cast of the film also included Ameesha Patel, Paresh Rawal, Manoj Joshi and Rajpal Yadav.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, on the other hand, was directed by Anees Bazmee and was released on May 20, 2022.
