Buzz: Will Dhanush revive his shelved second directorial with Nagarjuna and Aditi Rao Hydari?

Dhanush made his directorial debut with Pa Pandi in 2017 and fans have been eagerly waiting for the actor’s second directorial. While the makers turned down rumours about the movie being dropped, the latest reports suggest that the project is back on.

Considered as the actor’s dream project, the film set in the pre-independence era will also star Dhanush with Nagarjuna and Aditi Rao Hydari playing important roles. The movie, which is tentatively called DD2, is also said to be titled Naan Rudran. But there has been no official confirmation about this.

Recent reports suggested that the movie has been dropped, but the makers cleared the air around this. They confirmed that the project was put on hold because Dhanush got busy with other movies as an actor.

SJ Suryah, Sarathkumar, and Srikanth also feature in the movie, which is touted to be a Tamil-Telugu bilingual. Backed by Thenandal Studio, the movie also has music composed by Sean Roldan. While Om Prakash handles the cinematography, Prasanna GK is the editor.

Previously in an interview with Times of India, music director Sean Roldan said, “If the film gets completed, I am sure it would be a turning point in Tamil cinema. I am confident that just as Baahubali changed the course of Telugu cinema, this film will do the same,”.

Dhanush’s direcotrial debut titled Pa Pandi, was a critical and commercial success following its release. The movie features Rajkiran, Revathi, Prasanna and Madonna Sebastian among others.

Dhanush is currently working on Naane Varuven, which is helmed by his brother and noted director Selvaraghavan. The actor also has The Gray Man, Thiruchitrambalam and Vaathi in the making.
