The film is expected to go on floors after the Superstar wraps up Jailer,
Rajinikanth
The first look of Nelson Dilipkumar's Jailer, starring Rajinikanth in the lead, was unveiled recently. The movie which went on floors in Chennai is said to be hitting the screens as a summer release in 2023. The movie is crucial for both the Superstar and Nelson as their previous respective films did not meet expectations.
The makers have officially announced the inclusion of a few actors who are part of the project being bankrolled by Sun Pictures. Fans of Rajinikanth are awaiting the announcement of leading actors who will be playing significant roles in the movie which has music by Anirudh Ravichander.
Meanwhile, there have been unconfirmed reports going the rounds on the star's next outing which has been tentatively titled Thalaivar 170. Though the names of Desingh Periyasamy and Arunraja Kamaraj were initially heard, it is now said that Don fame Cibi Chakravarthi has bagged the opportunity.
An update on the same is expected later this year, though a meeting is said to have happened between Rajinikanth and Cibi in the movie. The director, who was an assistant to Atlee, made his debut this year with Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Don.
Now, there are reports that a leading actor is in talks to essay the role of the antagonist in Thalaivar 170. If everything goes well, Arvind Swami might share screen space with Rajinikanth once again after a three-decade hiatus. The duo was seen together for the first and last time in Mani Ratnam's iconic film Thalapathi which was released in 1991.
Movie buffs are curious to know how Cibi, who has helmed only one film, will present Superstar on screen. After Annaatthe, Desingh was supposed to direct a film with the star under the banner of AGS Entertainment.
