Vijay's upcoming movie Thalapathy 66 (tentatively titled) went on floors earlier this month. There are many speculations about the film that are doing the rounds on social media with regard to its cast and crew. The inclusion of Shaam in the cast is the latest among them.

Interestingly, many reports of the star's next film, Thalapathy 67, have already started making noise. Lokesh Kanagaraj is said to be directing the untitled project, though an official confirmation is awaited. The duo had teamed up earlier for Master (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) which released in 2021. Sam CS is said to be composing music for the film.

With Nelson's Beast not reaching the humongous expectations, fans of the star hope that Lokesh can come up with an intriguing script which brings out the best in Vijay. We heard that the Bigil star expressed interest to work with Magizh Tirumeni as well after listening to the scripts the latter narrated.

Though Lokesh was supposed to helm a sequel to his hit film Kaithi (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar) after his upcoming movie Vikram, it looks like he might take up Vijay's film first. Kollywood film buffs are looking at how fast the pre-production of the project will commence.

According to the grapevine, the script Lokesh had in mind for Vijay was the one he had written for Rajinikanth. There was buzz about Lokesh directing Rajini for a movie to be bankrolled by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International.

Both Rajinikanth and Vijay have been choosing the same directors in recent times. After Beast, Nelson is set to direct the Superstar. Earlier, AR Murugadoss, who directed Vijay back-to-back, went on to wield the megaphone for Darbar (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) which had Rajini playing the lead.
