With the humongous success of Vikram, all eyes are now on Lokesh Kanagaraj's next project. The four film old filmmaker has created a unique universe in Vikram which features a few characters from his previous directorial flick Kaithi (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar) as well.

The expectations will be huge when he comes up with Kaithi 2 or Vikram 2 as both the projects are expected to have characters from two movies, a never-before-seen phenomenon in Kollywood. The young director is next going to direct Vijay and the project has been tentatively titled Thalapathy 67.

It is likely to go on floors after Vijay completes shooting for Vamshi Paidipally's Thalapathy 66, which is touted to be a family drama, featuring a host of actors. According to sources, Thalapathy 67 will be a full-fledged gangster drama.

Lokesh himself had revealed earlier during a conversation with a few filmmakers that he is busy with a gangster flick which will be brutal in every sense. The video which is currently going viral on Twitter has him saying, "I have always had a special liking for the genre. Moreover, I'm a huge fan of Martin Scorsese and Clint Eastwood."

He added, "I have been thinking of what new things we can explore in gangster dramas. I want to do a brutal film; when I say brutal, it doesn't mean a gory film, but a completely intense movie." Fans of Vijay are elated after the news is out, though an official confirmation is awaited on the same.

Seven Screen Studio, which produced Lokesh-Vijay's first collaboration, Master (streaming on Amazon Prime Video), is expected to bankroll the film which will commence later this year. The last time Vijay essayed the role of a gangster was in Bigil (streaming on Amazon Prime Video). Movie buffs are curious to know what Lokesh has in store for Vijay this time.
