Buzz: Kartik Aaryan and Imtiaz Ali to team up for another project? Here’s what we know

Kartik Aaryan and Imtiaz Ali’s first collaboration came with Love Aaj Kal 2. Although the film failed to make the kind of impact the duo wanted, it seems they are coming together to give another collaboration a shot. It was reported that Aaryan and Ali were in talks for another film.

According to a report in TOI, the actor and the filmmaker were planning on doing a movie together and were presently working on getting the project finalised. A source told the portal that the upcoming film would be set in the ‘same space’ as most of Ali’s movies and would deal with similar subjects. The film would reportedly be the kind of movie that the filmmaker ‘loved to make’. The report also stated that the film would be ‘different’, but also had the potential to be one of the biggest releases of the year.

Speculations about Aaryan and Ali coming together for a project started to come up when paparazzi spotted the two outside the latter’s office recently. Last year, there had also been speculations that Aaryan would star in Ali’s upcoming film based on the life of Amar Singh Chamkila. It was also reported that Sara Ali Khan would also be a part of the film.

Aaryan had starred in Ali’s 2020 film, Love Aaj Kal 2, the sequel to the 2009 film of the same name which Ali had also helmed. The sequel, which also starred Khan and Randeep Hooda, had garnered mixed reviews. The film can be streamed on Netflix and Jio Cinema.

Meanwhile, Aaryan was last seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, and is awaiting the release of Freddy and Shehzada. Ali is the showrunner of the Netflix series She, which premiered its second season recently.
