Buzz: Jayam Ravi, Keerthy Suresh to team up for M Rajesh's upcoming project

The untitled film will be Ravi's 30th movie as an actor

Director M Rajesh, who last directed GV Prakash-starrer Vanakkamda Mappilei (streaming on Sun NXT), is currently busy with a web series starring Hansika in the lead. The untitled project is said to be releasing directly on Disney+ Hotstar later this year. It is now heard that the filmmaker is set to join hands with Jayam Ravi for a movie.

Keerthy Suresh is said to be in talks to play the female lead in the film which is expected to have music by Harris Jayaraj. In a career spanning two decades, the untitled film will be Ravi's 30th project as an actor.

Rajesh was supposed to do a movie each with Santhanam and Jiiva in lead roles. However, despite a few rounds of discussions with the actors, the projects didn't materialize, after which he took up the Hansika-starrer web series. Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Mr Local (streaming on MX Player) was his last theatrical release.

According to a source, the film with Ravi and Keerthy is expected to go on floors later this year, if everything goes well. Ravi, who was last seen in Bhoomi (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar), has the much-expected magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan, thriller flick Agilan and spy drama Jana Gana Mana in his kitty. His last theatrical release was Comali (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar). There are news doing the rounds that Ravi might team up with Comali's director Pradeep for another project later.

Keerthy, on the other hand, has Saani Kaayidham and Maamannan in Tamil in her kitty. The former will have a direct release on Amazon Prime Video, while the latter went on floors today.

Her last release in Tamil was Rajinikanth-starrer Annaatthe (streaming on Netflix) which hit the screens on Deepavali last year. She has a few big ticket flicks in Tollywood as well.
