Imtiaz Ali's widely awaited forthcoming film about the late Punjabi artist Amar Singh Chamkila has been generating a lot of excitement.
According to ETimes, the biography starring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra will begin filming in October, while pre-production begins towards the end of September.
The filmmaker recently told the news outlet that the movie will start filming in October.
The story revolves around Punjabi musician Amar and his wife Amarjot Kaur, who were murdered on March 8, 1988, and including two other members of their musical team. The murder continues an unanswered case to this day.

Imtiaz, on the other hand, has written the Netflix season 2 She which is currently airing on the platform. The director has also developed Thai Massage which will feature Gajraj Rao and Divyenndu Sharma. The film will be released in theatres on August 26.
Imtiaz also recently met with his Love Aaj Kal 2 star Kartik Aaryan, and the two are reportedly discussing their second film together. While there were rumours previous year that Aaryan might star in Imtiaz's forthcoming film based on Chamkila's life.
Imtiaz will return to the director's chair after directing Love Aaj Kal 2 in 2020, featuring Kartik and Sara Ali Khan. The film is a sequel to the same-titled film Ali directed in 2009. The film is available to watch on Netflix and Jio Cinema.
