Buzz: Akshay Kumar-led Hindi remake of Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru titled Startup?

Akshay Kumar, who recently appeared in Samrat Prithviraj, will soon be seen in the Hindi remake of Suriya’s Tamil hit Soorarai Pottru. Rumour has it that the upcoming film , which also stars Radhika Madan and Paresh Rawal, is named Startup.

Production on the project began in April and the curiosity around the film’s name is only but obvious.

The lead actors have remained mum on the title, as is the norm, but producer Vikram Malhotra recently addressed the rumours in a media interview.

Vikram told ETimes that no title for the movie has been confirmed yet. Anonymous sources mentioned in the report say that the movie will have a different name and the makers are in the process of arriving to a decision.

The remake was announced in April this year, with Suriya announcing his debut as producer in the Hindi industry.

The Tamil superstar had taken to Twitter and asked fans and followers for blessings on this new venture, which is produced in association with Abunduntia Entertainment and Cape of Good Films.

He will back the movie via his banner 2D Entertainment. Recently, the production house bankrolled the social drama Jai Bhim and Oh My Dog.

Sudha Kongara who directed Soorarai Pottru that chronicles the story of Air Deccan founder GR Gopinath is returning at the helm. It is inspired by the latter’s book Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey.

The movie is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video in India.
