Surya Vassishta makes his acting debut in the film that also stars Master, Kaithi actor Arjun Das
Butta Bomma, the Telugu remake of Kappela, starring Anikha Surendran, Arjun Das (popular for his antagonist roles) and newcomer Surya Vassishta in key roles, is gearing up for a wide release on February 4. The film’s release was postponed from January 26 to the next weekend in the last minute owing to a few issues. The trailer of the film was launched by Vishwak Sen today.
The film, directed by Shourie Chandrasekhar Ramesh, is set in Araku revolving around Satya, a teenager from a middle-class family, who’s happy in her own world. She is smitten by a caller on her mobile, an auto driver by profession. The two fall in love and communicate over calls before they meet. Satya does everything in her capacity to hide this relationship from her near and dear.
When it seems like another fairy-tale romance, a crooked goon wrecks havoc in the lives of the duo. There’s a personal/political connection between the antagonist’s move to attack the pair. What’s his motive and how is Satya affected by this stranger? The team appears to have made an honest effort to tell a good, realistic story sans any commercial compromises.
Navya Swamy, Narra Srinu too play other important roles in the film whose crew comprises cinematographer Vamsi Patchipulusu, editor Navin Nooli, composers Gopi Sundar, Sweekar Agasthi as well. Ganesh Kumar Ravuri, a journo-turned-writer known for Varudu Kaavalenu, is the dialogue writer. The film is produced by S Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas.
The film’s commercial prospects are expected to be driven by good word-of-mouth talk. Two other small-budget films are releasing in theatres next weekend along with Butta Bomma - Prema Desam and Writer Padmabhushan. Sithara Entertainments has another release in February as well, Sir a.k.a Vaathi, marking Dhanush’s Telugu debut, written and directed by Venky Atluri.
