The first look of Buffoon

The makers of Buffoon had announced recently that its teaser will be released on March 14. Sivakarthikeyan has unveiled the one-minute teaser from his Twitter page. Vaibhav and Anagha play lead roles in the movie which has been directed by Ashok Veerappan. Kaarthekeyen Santhanam, Sudhan Sundaram and Jayaram have produced the movie under Passion Studios, along with Karthik Subbaraj's Stone Bench Films.

Santhosh Narayanan has composed music for the movie which has cinematography by Dinesh Purushothaman and editing by Vetre Krishnan.

Vicky Nandhagopal and Dinesh Subbarayan have composed action choreography for the movie which has Aanthakudi Ilayaraja, Jayabalan, Narain and Mollywood actor Joju George playing pivotal roles. The teaser begins with cops on the lookout for a dreaded smuggler Dhanpal who is on the run.

Earlier, the makers had said that Buffoon touches upon the lives of drama artistes who keep travelling to different places as well. How the smuggling gang and drama artistes meet at an unexpected point forms the crux of the movie. The team has roped in real drama artistes from popular nadaga sangams in Karaikudi and Madurai.

This is the second time Karthik Subbaraj's production house and Vaibhav are coming together after Meyaadha Maan (streaming on Amazon Prime Video). The character from the successful film appeared in a cameo in the director's Petta (streaming on Netflix) as well. Karthik, whose Mahaan had a direct OTT release recently, is now the story writer for Ram Charan's RC 15 which is being directed by Shankar.

Vaibhav, who was last seen in Malaysia to Amnesia (streaming on Zee5) , has the long-delayed Kaatteri and Alambana in his kitty. Anagha, who made her Kollywood debut with Natpe Thunai, was last seen in Tamil in Santhanam's Dikkiloona (streaming on Zee5).
