Selfiee, a film starring Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi, has been a massive letdown despite having a sizable budget.
Akshay Kumar has been unable to come up with a box office hit since last year. Even his most recent movie, Selfiee, in which Emraan Hashmi also appears, had a dismal response. It's a major catastrophe because the movie has a massive budget.
The movie, which released on February 24th, received divided reviews from critics. Yet, word-of-mouth was more likely to be favourable. In spite of this, we didn't see any interest in the Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi film. A portion of the crowd was undoubtedly turned off by the fact that it was a remake. Except from that one factor, no one has been able to determine the true cause of the film's abject failure.
Selfiee's box office earnings are currently stagnant, and the movie has not yet surpassed the 20 crore threshold in India. It's one of the worst letdowns in recent years for Bollywood with such poor revenue at the box office. The film starring Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi is purportedly being made on a massive budget of 100 crores. Indeed, that is a really huge number!
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar recently stated that it is purely his fault for the failure of his films at the box office and that one should not place the blame for this failure on the public.
Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi, Nushrat Bharuccha, and Diana Penty play the lead characters in the hindi adaptation. It's backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Production along with Magic Frames, Prithviraj Productions, Cape of Good Films and Star Studios.
