Century Star Shivarajkumar, who only days ago wrapped up work on his film with Vijay Milton, Bairagee, which is the Kannada remake of the Tamil film Asuran, and has two other films, Nee Sigoovaregu and Vedha in the pipeline, has signed up for his next. On Monday, Shivanna (as the actor is popularly known) announced that he would be a part of Buddhivanta 2 director Jayaram’s next untitled project. Jayaram, who will hereafter be known as R Jai, is making the film for Bindya Productions, the banner that recently backed rapper-composer Chandan Shetty’s single, Laka Laka Lambargini.

R Keshav of Bindya Productions said that the film would be a mega-budget pan-India project, the story of which will be set in the 70s. Details about the rest of the cast and crew will be announced shortly. It’s also not clear when the film will go on floors, considering that Shivanna has to start Nee Sigoovaregu and Vedha.

Nee Sigoovaregu is the actor’s film with director Ram Dhulipadi, in which he will be paired with Mehreen Pirzada. A romantic emotional drama, Nee Sigoovaregu will have Shivanna play an army man, which he last did in Mass Leader. The film will also star singer Mangli, Sadhu Kokila, Nassar and Sampath in pivotal roles.

Thereafter he has Vedha, which is his fourth collaboration with choreographer-director Harsha. The film’s tagline is The Brutal 1960s, leading to speculation that it is a village-based story set in the 60s. The actor will be seen in a heavily bearded salt and pepper look in Vedha. While Arjun Janya returns to compose music for the film, Vedha will also be the first film production venture for the actor’s home banner.
