On January 30, the OTT platform Netflix announced the release of its latest show, titled 'When Life Gives You Tangerines,' starring IU and Park Bo Gum as the main leads, and spanning over 190 countries. Directed by Kim Won Seok and written by Im Sang Chun, this project generated significant buzz and anticipation upon its revelation. What particularly caught the attention of many was the mention of 'Tangerines.'
This detail sparked interest among BTS fandom, known as ARMY, who began speculating whether rapper Min Yoongi, also known as Suga or AgustD, would be part of the series, as he is known to love 'Tangerines.' Additionally, another faction of fans speculated about Kim Taehyung aka V, potentially singing an OST for the series. Their speculation was fueled by V's Instagram story featuring a picture of a 'Tangerine,' as well as his close friendship with both lead actors.
ARMY flooded social media platforms, especially X (formerly known as Twitter), discussing whether V is set to sing or if Suga is preparing for his acting debut.
'When Life Gives You Tangerines' promises to resonate deeply as it unravels the tale of Ae Soon and Kwan Sik amidst the picturesque backdrop of Jeju Island. The storyline delves into the adventurous lives of Ae Soon, a rebellious girl from Yomangjin, born in Jeju, and Kwan Sik, a man with an unyielding spirit.

Adding to the narrative, Moon So Ri and Park Hae Jun will be portraying the older versions of Ae Soon and Kwan Sik, respectively.
This series will also mark a collaboration between writer Im Sang Chun, renowned for his work on dramas like 'Misaeng' and 'Signal,' and director Kim Won Seok, known for his human-centric storytelling in dramas such as 'Becky's Back,' 'Fight for My Way,' and 'When the Camellia Blooms.'
All BTS members of the group have enlisted in the South Korean military, and all seven have completed their basic training. Upon graduation, Taehyung, who has joined a special mission unit, is scheduled to undergo a three-week course at the Army General Administration School before being assigned to his designated unit.

Regarding Suga, he was deemed "unfit for regular combat duty" and is serving as a social service agent. This decision was made due to a shoulder surgery he underwent in 2020 to repair a torn labrum.
