Jeon Jungkook gave back to the hate online and said, "I only care about the ones who care for me".
BTS' Jeon Jungkook, affectionately known as the 'Golden Maknae' by ARMY, faced some disappointment from a few so-called "fans" after releasing the explicit version of his new single, "SEVEN". However, the talented singer addressed the situation during a late-night LIVE session, responding to a comment that questioned why he decided to create a "dirty version."
Giving a direct answer, Jungkook said, "Why is that a dirty version? Explain. Go ahead and explain. Is it because everyone's different? Is that how you felt? I guess that can't be helped".
Jungkook then went on to add, "I thought about this a lot. Which of the two versions should I release? But I decided to release both. The clean version, people would interpret it differently. And the explicit version, people would interpret differently. I thought it would be fun. And how old am I?"
He continued, "I do understand why ARMYs love me, so I did think about it a lot. But the way I thought about it was that I have to keep showing you new images or I can't be acknowledged. This is something only I can do. Do you know what I mean?"
He even spoke about how some things he needs to live up to the 'maknae' image. "My image is the maknae and although among my Idol friends I'm not the maknae, there is this image, and many people really love it. And if I just follow that, what can I change? Even tho it's my life. I'm the one who has to change it".
The youngest member of BTS also spoke about change and how he loves the concept of nothing remaining the same. "I always look for new things and I want to make the new things fun. And I want to be acknowledged by ARMYs for those things".
Among other things in his long chat with ARMY, the Idol also said, "Go ahead and talk about me every way you want. I don't care. Like I said, I only care about the ones who care for me, if you don't like me go ahead and live like that. Thanks for the little attention you give me anyway".
About 'SEVEN':
JK had described the song saying, "I have to do this'. There aren't many songs I've been hooked on as soon as I heard it, but it was really good."
He added, "It is a passionate serenade with lyrics about wanting to be with the person you love all week long.”
Talking about his collaboration with Latto, he said, Latto is featured in this song and the colours of her are well incorporated into this song, so I think the charm of this song has gone up many notches."
