Bro, the Telugu remake of Vinodhaya Sitham, written and directed by Samuthirakani, is coming to theatres this Friday on July 28. Trivikram has written the dialogues and adapted the film for the Telugu version starring Pawan Kalyan, Sai Dharam Tej in the lead. People Media Factory and Zee Studios are jointly producing the film which has music by S Thaman.

A new single from the film, Theme of Bro, was unveiled this morning. “Immerse yourself in the magic of enthralling beats and empowering lyrics that will leave you spellbound. #ThemeofBRO lyrical video out now on @MangoMusicLabel,” the production house tweeted. Written by Kalyan Chakravarthy, the number was sung by Aditi Bhavaraju, Aditya Iyengar, Adviteeya, Anudeep, Arun Kaundinyas, Damini Bhatla, Harika Narayan and others.

Staying true to the theme of the film, the song pays an ode to time and mortality in Sanksrit-hymn style, emphasising how time reins supreme and no one can rise above it, discussing a wide range of aspects including dharma, karma, death. While a majority of the song is written in Sanskrit, the final lines in Telugu provide a good finishing touch, summarising its essence succinctly.

‘Kalam triguna samshlesha..Kaala gamaana sankasham.. Kaala yarjayeth chaaranam…Kaala janmanaa jaayatey,” the song takes off and the lyricist’s word play comes to the fore in the subsequent stanza where he smartly integrates ‘Bro’ into the lines. The Telugu stanza ‘Kaalam maarutundaa..Jaalam aaputundaaa.. Pataam maarchutundaa..Pasham panchutundaa’ is equally impactful.

The lyricist Kalyan Chakravarthy had written a similar Sanskrit sloka-styled song for Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha, discussing the true meaning and purpose behind the avatar of Lord Vishnu. Priya Prakash Varrier, Raja Chembolu, Rohini, Subbaraju, Brahmanandam and Ketika Sharma play other pivotal roles in Bro. The film’s Tamil version can be streamed on ZEE5.
