Samuthirakani directs the film which has dialogues by Trivikram
Pawan Kalyan is teaming up with his nephew Sai Dharam Tej for the first time for Bro, an emotional yet entertaining drama, written and directed by Samuthirakani. The film is the Telugu remake of ZEE5’s direct-to-OTT release in Tamil, Vinodhaya Sitham, headlined by Thambi Ramaiah and Samuthirakani. The Telugu version is gearing up for a release on July 28.
Trivikram has adapted the screenplay and wrote the dialogues for the Telugu version, bankrolled by People Media Factory in collaboration with Zee Studio. S Thaman scores the music for the film. While the film’s shooting is more or less complete, the post-production formalities are being wrapped up at a brisk pace. After unveiling the character promos, posters, the teaser was launched today.
The teaser takes off with Sai Dharam Tej being stuck in a dark space where he’s seeking help from someone and there are huge doors. He calls for help, referring to the concerned person as master, guru, tammudu and finally ‘bro’. With a thunder strike, Pawan Kalyan arrives in an avatar that raises a toast to his appearance in Tammudu, where he’s dressed like a coolie with a red towel.
There’s a visual of a character meeting with a car accident and the frequent verbal banters between a cool Pawan Kalyan and a flustered Sai Dharam Tej keep you entertained. The dialogues on time, destiny and the satire on films by Pawan Kalyan contribute to its appeal. The star sports a graceful smile, shows terrific enthusiasm and his comic timing is a major highlight of the teaser.
Ketika Sharma, Priya Prakash Varrier, Samuthirakani, Rohini, Rajeswari Nair, Raja, Tanikella Bharani, Vennela Kishore, Subbaraju, Prudhvi Raj, Narra Srinu, Yuva Lakshmi, Devika, Ali Reza and Surya Srinivas are cast in pivotal roles in the film. Sujith Vaasudev is the cinematographer. Netflix has acquired its post-theatrical rights.
