Mohanlal, who is back from his annual ayurveda treatment, has joined the team of Prithviraj Sukumaran’s second directorial Bro Daddy in Hyderabad today. The movie, which has the two actors in lead roles, went on floors a week ago.

Mohanlal will reportedly be shooting for a few days before he heads to film the finale of Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 3 during the weekend and rejoin the team of the family entertainer after that. Kalyani Priyadarshan, who plays one of the female leads in the movie, had joined the shoot last week.

Apart from Mohanlal, Prithviraj and Kalyani, the film also has Kaniha, Meena, Jagadeesh, Lalu Alex, Murali Gopy and Soubin Shahir in pivotal roles. Bro Daddy, which is scripted by Sreejith N and Bibin Maliekal, is touted to be a feel-good film with liberal doses of comedy.

It’s a marked change from Prithviraj’s first directorial Lucifer, which was a political thriller, and its sequel Empuraan, which will now go on floors only after Mohanlal finishes his directorial debut Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure. Mohanlal had shot his 3D film for a week in April before the lockdown was enforced due to the second wave of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, there are also reports that the team of Bro Daddy could move back to Kochi soon after the Kerala government has lifted shooting restrictions. Mohanlal was initially supposed to work on Jeethu Joseph’s 12th Man in Idukki, Kerala, but it was postponed as the government did not permit outdoor shooting due to the spike in COVID-19 cases in that State.
