The show’s popularity has prompted the makers to focus on another member of the family to take the story forward.
Since season 2 of Netflix’s Bridgerton has been confirmed, fans have been anxiously waiting for every update they can get. Recently, new pics from the sets of the show found their way online and had a few cast members including Jonathan and Simone Ashley in their period costumes enjoying a horse race.
The first season ended with a big reveal – the identity of newsletter writer LadyWhistledown who keeps letting out society’s secrets. It was tough to think of another season, with the perfect conclusion, but the show’s popularity has prompted the makers to focus on another member of the family to take the story forward.
Bailey and Phoebe Dynevor will be returning as Anthony Bridgerton and Daphne, Duchess of Hastings, respectively. However, fans will miss their favourite, Regé-Jean Page, from the first season.
In an early statement confirming the second season, Bridgerton’s executive producer Shonda Rhimes said, “Betsy and I are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue bringing the world of Bridgerton to a worldwide audience.”
Bela Bajaria, who is the VP of global TV at Netflix stated that Shonda’s creative team knew the material and delivered a beautiful, emotional and romantic drama for their members. “They have some exciting plans for the future, and we think audiences will continue to swoon for this show. We’re planning to be in the Bridgerton business for a long time to come,” she said,
The second season of Bridgerton will soon head into post-production but the release date is yet to be confirmed.
