Bramayugam director Rahul Sadasivan has revealed that the film is set in the dark ages of Kerala
The title of Rahul Sadasivan's horror movie starring Mammootty has been revealed: Bramayugam. The actor plays a villain in the movie, whose filming began on August 17. Arjun Ashokan, who became popular in Malayalam films through movies like Parava, Romancham, and Pranaya Vilasam, plays the protagonist in Bramayugam.

The film is bankrolled by Y NOT Studios, known for backing Vikram Vedha, Saala Khadoos, and Kadaseela Biriyani. With the tagline 'The Age of Madness', Bramayugam also stars actor-director Siddharth Bharathan and Kammattipaadam actress Amalda Liz in prominent roles. The scary title poster features a monochrome image of a man standing before a haunted mansion with a torch in his hand.
Rahul Sadasivan tries his hand at horror once again after Bhoothakaalam
Bramayugam is the second directorial effort of Rahul Sadasivan after Bhoothakaalam, a horror thriller that received appreciation for its making.
According to Rahul, Bramayugam is a story set in the dark ages of Kerala. The director is excited to work with Mammootty, and the production house, which, according to him, is pushing the boundary to make Bramayugam. Rahul calls the film an immersive film experience and hopes that it will be a treat for Mammootty's fans and horror lovers worldwide.
The film will be shot in Kochi and Ottapalam. The technical department consists of Shehnad Jalal as the cinematographer, Shafiq Mohammed Ali as the editor, and Jyothish Shankar as the production designer. The dialogues have been written by the popular Malayalam novelist TD Ramakrishnan, who is known for the novel Francis Itty Cora.
When will Bramayugam be released?
The film is slated to hit theatres in early 2024 in Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
Meanwhile, Mammootty's upcoming releases are Kannur Squad and Kaathal: The Core. Kannur Squad, helmed by Roby Varghese Raj, is slated to hit theatres on October 5.
