Malayalam superstar Mammootty's highly-awaited movie Bramayugam opened in cinemas worldwide on Thursday. We can now officially confirm that, after completing its theatrical run, Bramayugam will become available for streaming on SonyLIV.
In line with current industry trends, new South Indian movies, including those in Malayalam, typically make their streaming debut after completing a four-week exclusive theatrical run. However, Mammootty has previously shown a willingness to extend the theatrical window for his movies compared to his contemporaries.
For instance, Mammootty's Kannur Squad had its OTT release after seven weeks, while his previous movie, Kaathal The Core, took over 40 days to arrive on streaming, allowing for an extended opportunity at the box office. Notably, Mammootty has resisted shorter OTT release windows for these movies because he also served as the producer. However, it's worth mentioning that he has not produced Bramayugam.
