Bramayugam, directed by Rahul Sadasivan, is an upcoming Malayalam horror drama that stars Mammootty in a prominent role. The actor plays a villain in the movie, whose shooting began on August 17. Now, the latest from the film is that Mammootty has wrapped up the shooting of his portions in the film. The remaining portions will be completed with other actors by mid October.

Bramayugam was the talk of the town after its first look poster was released on Mammootty's birthday (September 7). The poster features a monochrome image of the actor sporting a devilish smile with stained teeth. There have been rumours about Mammootty playing a sorcerer in the film. The actor plays a negative character in the film. The actor was last seen in such a role in Ratheena's Puzhu, which was a direct-to-OTT release.

According to director Rahul Sadasivan, Bramayugam is a period horror film that is based in Kerala's dark ages. Along with Mammootty, Bramayugam features Sidharth Bharathan, Arjun Ashokan, and Amalda Liz in pivotal roles. Malayalam novelist TD Ramakrishnan, known for his novel Francis Itty Cora, has written the dialogues for the film.
The film is mounted on a large scale and is being shot in locations in Kochi and Ottapalam. The film will have a worldwide release in early 2024 in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Telugu simultaneously.
Mammootty's upcoming projects
Mammootty is all set to team up with director Vysakh after Madhura Raja. The upcoming film, which is written by Anjaam Pathiraa director Midhun Manuel Thomas, is touted to be a mass entertainer. Mammootty has several other projects in the pipeline, including Bazooka and Kaathal: The Core, which are ready to be released. The actor is currently preparing for the release of his investigative drama, Kannur Squad, which is set to be released in theatres on September 28.
