Bramayugam, the period horror thriller which stars Mammootty in the lead role, has now emerged as one of the most loved Malayalam films of recent times. The movie, which is helmed by Rahul Sadasivan, is made in a black-and-white format. Even though it was a completely experimental project, Bramayugam totally impressed the cine-goers across the globe. In his recent chat with The Cue Studio, Rahul Sadasivan opened up about making the Mammootty starrer and stated that he wants to excite the audience.

According to the talented filmmaker, his idea behind making a film is to excite the audience. Even though the cine-goers are now discussing the politics of the film Rahul Sadasivan stated that his only intention was to provide a unique cinematic experience that would cater to the sensibilities of the Malayalam cinema audience. The Bramayugam director also added that he never makes films for himself, or to showcase his ideologies. Rahul also added that his films are made solely for the audiences.

The making of Bramayugam

Rahul Sadasivan stated that he was always very particular about taking a unique route with Bramayugam. According to the director, he first pitched the idea to the production house. He was very sure that he wanted to make the film in a period setting in black-and-white format. Rahul was also adamant that he would make the film only if Mammootty came on board to play the role of Kodumon Potti. However, he approached the megastar only after the production banner, Night Shift Studios decided to back his vision wholeheartedly.

Bramayugam is made for theatres

In his interview with The Cue Studio, Rahul Sadasivan also revealed that Bramayugam is a film that is specifically made for the theatres. The technical aspects, especially the sound of the film was designed were designed strictly for the theatrical watch, unlike his previous outing, Bhoothakaalam. The filmmaker stated that he was very lucky to have a production house that backed his vision, and a technical team that supported him throughout the journey.
