The Ayan Mukerji directorial, which went on floors in 2018, wrapped up its shoot recently in Varanasi
Brahmastra, which is touted to be director Ayan Mukerji’s magnum opus, wrapped up its shoot recently. Ranbir Kapoor recently revealed his thoughts on finally calling it wraps after five years.
In a conversation with Sneha Menon Desai, Ranbir said that he still finds it hard to believe that the film has finished its shoot.
“For that film, I say never say never! Woh director kuch bhi kaam nikaal dega. So till the time this film does not release, I am not going to believe only this film is over,” said the star.
The actor also added that since the film is a planned trilogy, they still have a long journey ahead of them. So he did not feel as much excitement on the film’s ‘wrap’. He did, however, add that he was excited for the film’s release. They had all worked very hard on the film, and Ranbir hopes that the film ‘blows people’s minds’.
Alia Bhatt, who stars as the female lead in the film, took to Instagram to announce that the film wrapped up its shoot, after a period of almost 5 years.
In addition to Ranbir and Alia, the upcoming film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Dimple Kapadia and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. Shah Rukh Khan will also make a special appearance in the film. Karan Johar is a producer of the upcoming film.
Brahmastra will be released in theatres on September 9, 2022, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.
Meanwhile, Ranbir also has another film scheduled for release this year - Shamshera. The film, also starring Vaani Kapoor, will be released in theatres on July 22.
