During the promotion of Shamshera Ranbir Kapoor was quizzed about the response Kesariya song received.
The much-awaited Brahmastra song Kesariya dropped on Sunday and the response received to it is not what anyone would expect. The track received praiseworthy words for Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's chemistry, Arijit Singh's soulful voice, and Pritam Chakraborty's beautiful music. However, the inclusion of the phrase "Love Storiyan" in the song, which was performed by Arijit Singh, drew criticism from several social media users shortly after the song's release. The song was written by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
The Brahmastra song Kesariya which was released on Sunday, also featured a response from Ranbir Kapoor to the popular memes. The movie, which was directed by Ayan Mukerji and also features Alia Bhatt, will hit theatres on September 9.
Ranbir remarked that trolling and memes are a part of life and that he "loved" the particular phrase.
At an event in Delhi, the actor stated that as filmmakers and artists, they produce work, and it is up to the audience to interpret it as they see fit. The song has received a lot of affection, which makes them extremely happy. The goal is for people to enjoy the song, Pritam's music, Arijit's vocals, Alia's and his chemistry.
Ranbir concluded by saying that he loved the "Love Storiyan" bit in Kesariya's song.
Ahead of the release of the song, Ayan penned a note on his Instagram page wherein he said that the response to the Kesariya Teaser was so overwhelming that they decided they had to release it first. Now he can't fathom it any other way. Kesariya is about Shiva and Isha and their love, which is at the heart of Brahmastra.
The filmmaker hoped that when the song was released, people would appreciate it for its beauty and simplicity, and that it would bring them joy.
Brahmastra also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles.
