According the latest reports, the film hits OTT exactly eight weeks after its theatrical release
Speculations have been rife about Brahmastra’s OTT premiere with reports suggesting that the film will be out sometime in October. While there’s been no confirmation received yet from the makers, many believe that the digital debut of the Ranbir Kapoor - Alia Bhatt starrer is only around the corner and in this vein, October 23 is being reported as the date of release. However, quashing the rumours, the latest updates reveal that Brahmastra will be releasing not in October but in the first week of November with Disney+ Hotstar as the chosen platform.
Yes, as reported by Let’s Cinema a short while ago, the fantasy adventure film will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on November 4 in all languages. Brahmastra released worldwide on September 9 to mixed reviews but was able to impress the audiences with its slick VFX work which, ultimately, helped the film gross over Rs. 400 crores (Rs. 430 crores, precisely). What’s intended to be the first installment of the three-part series of the Astraverse, Brahmastra Part One: Shiva was dubbed and released in multiple Indian languages with the film faring reasonably well in Telugu. Brahmastra Part One’s OTT release comes exactly eight weeks after the film’s theatrical release on September 9.
Made at a budget of over Rs. 400 crores, the first part of Brahmastra is arguably the most expensive Hindi film to date and was distributed by Star Studios in India with the 20th Century Studios handling the North American market. The film is the first-ever Indian film to be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Dharma Productions in association with Prime Focus, Star Studios, and Starlight Pictures, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Akkineni Nagarjuna, among others. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone made special appearances in the film and the second part of the series (Brahmastra 2) is said to be in the works with big-league names like Ranveer Singh or Hrithik Roshan rumoured to be associated with it.
