Earlier, in an interview with India Today, Alia had reacted to this criticism, and had said, “People can literally play a drinking game based on the number of times I have said Shiva in the film.”
Prior to the Shiva thing, there was the "Love Storiyan" controversy over Brahmastra on the internet. The song "Kesariya" by Brahmastra certainly attracted attention, but its "love storiya" lyrics also inspired numerous internet memes. The song, which was sung in the beautiful voice of Arijit Singh, mostly went smoothly until that particular line of the lyrics presented a challenge. Many also claimed that there were other different terms that may have been used in place of the phrase.
On September 9, Brahmastra was released in theatres. Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy play major roles in the movie. Shah Rukh Khan made a cameo appearance in the movie as well. Nearly Rs 400 crores were made by the film Brahmastra at international box offices.
