The legendary Tollywood comedian was last seen in Tamil in Dagaalty,
Brahmanandam and Santhanam in Kick
Veteran Telugu actor Brahmanandam, who is popular for his impeccable comic timing, has been part of a few Tamil movies, too, in his illustrious career spanning around four decades. He was last seen in Kollywood in the Santhanam-starrer Dagaalty which was released in theatres in 2020, a few weeks before movie halls were shut down owing to the first lockdown.
The legendary performer is now all set to join hands with Santhanam again for Kick which has Sandalwood filmmaker Prashant Raj at its helm. The film, which has been billed as a comic caper, was wrapped up recently.
Brahmanandam will be seen essaying the role of Vaali, a scientist in the movie. The makers have also unveiled his appearance from the film. Fans of the actor hope that he will have a crucial character to play in the project. Though Dagaalty went unnoticed, his scenes with Santhanam in its pre-climax portions were a riot.
Tanya Hope plays the female lead in the project which is likely to hit the screens this year. The movie will be Santhanam's second outing this year after Gulu Gulu which was released in July. Ragini Dwivedi and Kovai Sarala among others essay important roles in the film.
Arjun Janya has composed music for Kick which has been bankrolled by Naveen Raj under the banner of Fortune Films. The movie's first look was unveiled a couple of weeks ago on the occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi.
The last two outings of Santhanam - Gulu Gulu and Sabhaapathy - were low on comedy, and moviegoers weren't satisfied. They have now pinned high hopes on Kick. Manoj Beedha's Agent Kannayiram, the remake of Telugu movie Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya, is another project Santhanam has in his kitty.
