Boy Kills World is Evil Dead franchise famed producer Sam Raimi’s upcoming summer release, starring the talented likes of Bill Skarsgard, Isaiah Mustafa, and Jessica Rothe.
Boy Kills World is a bloody action thriller set in a stylized dystopia full of violence and authority. It must be so if annually, rebels or dissidents are mass murdered brutally by cereal mascots for control, entertainment, and sponsorship. Marking the feature directorial debut of Moritz Mohr, the film is produced by some iconic producers.
Boy Kills World is produced by director-producer Sam Raimi of Evil Dead Rise and Spider-Man trilogy and Roy Lee of Barbarian and IT fame. The film enjoys a theatrical release in the United States on April 26, 2024. The movie is likely to land on an OTT platform in India, though more details are not known. Distributed by Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions, the film dropped its trailer recently and it looks fun and electrifying.
Boy Kills World follows the tale of Boy, a deaf and mute orphan played by Bill Skarsgard. He lives in a dystopic reality ruled with an iron fist by the deranged Van Der Koy matriarch, Hilda. She and her clan were responsible for murdering Boy’s entire family and present predicament. Boy has a tough childhood, tossed around before ending up in the jungle with a mysterious shaman who trains him in martial arts to avenge their deaths.

After gaining enough expertise to be a solo killing machine, Boy embarks on a hyper realistic and gory journey of revenge. He joins a desperate group of resistance and they set off to finish the Van Der Koys on the eve of the 25th annual televised culling of dissidents by breakfast cereal mascots.
What ensues next is a bloody carnage but of those on the Van Der Koy payroll. Boy is not lonely. He has co-opted the voice of his favorite childhood arcade video game and has the company of his rebellious little sister’s ghost. Since the film premiered at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival amid warm reviews, the expectations remain moderately high.
Other than Bill Skarsgard, Boy Kills World also stars Jessica Rothe, Famke Janssen, Isaiah Mustafa, Yayan Ruhian, Michelle Dockery, Sharlto Copley, Brett Gelman, and Andrew Koji. With such a talented cast and intriguing premise, Boy Kills World promises a high-voltage, entertaining summer watch.
