After months of buzz, endless promotions, and world premieres, Wonka finally landed on December 8. And guess what? Timothée Chalamet, the female fans’ favourite heartthrob from Call Me by Your Name and Little Woman, absolutely crushed it again. This role just cemented his spot as one of Hollywood's hottest young stars this year. Wonka has sweet-tooth-ed its way past several 2023 box office champions, raking up an impressive collection in cinemas.

Wonka, the prequel to the Johnny Depp's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, has touched the $250 million mark already, as per reports. It's evidently a huge achievement for Warner Bros. this year. Despite a moderate decline, the film grossed $33.2 million overseas, bringing its total international collection to $171.3 million. With a worldwide gross of $254.9 million, the $100-million budget film is already a sweet treat for Warner Bros. this Christmas.

Wonka India collection

Continuing its box office magic, Wonka has grossed Rs 2.37 crore on its third day in India, according to Sacnilk. This figure includes collections from all languages, showcasing the film's appeal across the diverse Indian audience.

Aqauman and the Lost Kingdom box office

While Wonka soared at the box office, Warner Bros. other December release – Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, had a more cautious start. Opening with $80 million internationally, the Jason Momoa sequel faces the challenge of surpassing the underwhelming performances of recent DC films like The Flash and Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
