Box Office: Tiger 3 becomes Salman Khan’s biggest opener in North America

So, the D-Day (or should we call it as the ‘T-Day’?) has finally arrived. The film Tiger 3, for which many all over were waiting with bated breath, has finally been released today. And since it’s a Salman Khan starrer, the film’s makers were super confident about the box office pull of the superstar. That explains the reason as to why the film’s makers chose to release the film today (on a Sunday!). The latest update about the Salman Khan starrer is that, it has now become the biggest opener in North America.
As per a news report in Pinkvilla, it has been reported that, the Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif starrer had pocketed a cool USD 2.25 million (approximate figures), while it was expected to be collecting around USD 5.5 million on its opening day (which also includes the film’s premieres), in countries including Australia and New Zealand, which falls under the Eastern market.
The same report also mentioned that, the film ‘Tiger 3’s collections in North America was a super impressive USD 1.05 million. This figure only meant that the film has now registered itself as a highest opening day for a Salman Khan. Prior to this, it was the Salman Khan’s film Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which was released in 2015. The film had then pocketed around USD 740K in the first day collections.
As for the film Tiger 3, it is doing as expected in the Indian markets. The craze for the film is so huge that, the cinegoers have already stated celebrating the success of the film outside the theatres. Today, at Gaiety and Galaxy theatres in Mumbai, many of Salman Khan fans were seen wearing the trademark scarf as Salman Khan in the film and were seeing dancing to the songs of Tiger 3. Besides Salman Khan, the film stars Katrina Kaif as the leading lady and Emraan Hashmi in an all-important role.
