Bougainvillea box office collection Day 1: Director Amal Neerad has made a grand comeback to the theatres after the massive success of Bheeshma Parvam, with the psychological crime thriller. The movie stars Kunchacko Boban and Jyothirmayi in the lead roles, while Fahadh Faasil makes a cameo appearance. As per the latest updates, Bougainvillea is off to a terrific start at the box office, and has collected over Rs. 3 crore from Kerala alone, on its release day.

If the latest updates are to be believed, Bougainvillea has made an extraordinary start at the box office, by collecting over Rs. 3 crore from Kerala alone, on its release day. The worldwide opening collection, on the other hand, reportedly crossed the Rs. 6 crore mark. In that case, it is safe to assume that the Amal Neerad directorial has emerged as the highest opening-day grosser in the career of its leading man, Kunchacko Boban.

Despite receiving mixed reviews from both the audiences and critics, Bougainvillea is expected to have a terrific first weekend, at the box office. If things proceed at the same rate, the Amal Neerad film is expected to cross the Rs. 10 crore mark at the worldwide box office on its Day 2 at the theatres. In that case, the first weekend collection has high chances to cross the Rs. 20 crore mark. A detailed collection report is expected to be out very soon.

Bougainvillea: All you need to know

The movie, jointly scripted by Amal Neerad and Lajo Jose, revolves around Reethu, a woman who suffers from retrograde amnesia, and her husband, Dr. Royce Thomas. The couple gets entangled in a missing case investigation, headlined by cop David Koshy. Kunchacko Boban and Jyothirmayi appear as Royce Thomas and Reethu, in the film Fahadh Faasil makes a cameo appearance as David Koshy, the cop.

Sharaf U Dheen, Srindaa, Veena Nandakumar, Shobi Thilakan, Jinu Joseph, Athira Patel, Vijilesh Karayad, Nisthar Sait, and others essay supporting roles in the film. Sushin Shyam composes the songs and original score. Anend C Chandran is the director of photography. Vivek Harshan handles the editing. Bougainvillea is jointly produced by Jyothirmayi and Kunchacko Boban, under the banners Amal Neerad Productions and Udaya Pictures.
