Ahan Shetty Comes Onboard Border 2

The excitement surrounding 'Border 2' is already reaching heights, with Sunny Deol joining hands with Diljit Dosanjh and Varun Dhawan for the sequel of the cult classic. Now, as people await updates on the project, the makers today dropped another announcement that revealed a new addition to the 'Border 2' cast. After starring Suniel Shetty in the first part of the film, director J.P. Dutta has roped in his son Ahan Shetty to be a part of the second film of the franchise.

Makers dropped a new announcement for 'Border 2'

Taking to the T-Series official YouTube handle, the makers dropped a new announcement video that starts with some flashes from the cult classic 'Border'. Adding the cherry on top was the melodious tune of the song "Sandeysey Aate Hain." Later, the video shows text that reads, “For Duty, For Honour, For Country,” backed by a gripping voiceover that says, “Jise paar nahi kar paata dushman, woh na toh koi lakeer hai, naa deewaar naa ghaai, aur kya hai ye border. Bas ek fauji aur uske bhai.”

After grabbing audiences' attention through this gripping clip, the video drops another big announcement as they welcome Suniel Shetty's son Ahan Shetty to the second part of the film. Ahan is all set to join Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh in the patriotic drama. The video ends with the vocals, “Sandeysey Aate Hain…”

Sunny Deol also took to his Instagram to drop the announcement and to welcome Ahan to the team. While sharing the video, Deol wrote, “Welcoming Fauji @ahan.shetty to the Battalion of #Border2."

Netizens react to the big announcement

A user wrote, “Yeh hi soch raha tha bahut time se. Finally, ab majha aayega na agar story Ahaan Shetty continue kare.” “'Border' is the movie that gave strong reasons to lakhs of deshbhakts to join the Indian Armed Forces, be it as an officer or as a soldier. It's not just a movie but an emotion. (Hum hi hum hain toh kya hum hain, tum hi tum ho toh kya tum ho),” another one commented. A third user wrote, “It cannot get bigger than this one. While it was Suniel Shetty in the first part, this is a fitting tribute to the father whose son will be seen in the second part of the film. Ahaan has to perform, as this is a life-changing and career-defining opportunity for the young actor. We all are sure that this film 'Border 2' will catapult Ahaan Shetty into the league of super classic actors, like his father Suniel Shetty.”

All you need to know about 'Border 2'

Prior to Ahan, the makers had announced that Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh would be joining the cast of 'Border 2' with Sunny Deol. The film is being produced by a team that includes Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta, with Anurag Singh at the helm as director. The film is all set to hit the theatres on January 23, 2026.

Ahan Shetty recently grabbed attention when Sajid Nadiadwala hit pause on 'Sanki' because of his high entourage costs. As per a report in Bollywood Hungama, "It was when Sajid saw his leading man’s entourage costs that he lost his patience. Ahan’s staff costs—(hair, make-up, spot, stylist, driver, chef, trainer, etc.), which were billed to production—were so high that Sajid threatened to pull the plug on the film, adding that it made no business sense to produce this project.”
