Rukmini Maitra is all set to be Jeet’s heroine for the first time in Boomerang and their fans are waiting eagerly for the film. However, it seems the waiting time is lengthened. The film Boomerang, directed by Souvik Kundu, was supposed to be released in May. However, the release has been postponed due to the upcoming Loksabha election.

Jeet earlier said in February that Boomerang would be released on May 10. It is billed as a sci-fi genre film with a punch of comedy. Jeet also put an end to the discussion about the clash between Mirza and Boomerang. But Jeet's production house said on Friday that the film would be released on June 7.

The parliamentary election is knocking at the door. It will start in April in West Bengal and will continue till June 1. Sources say that Boomerang's release was postponed keeping in mind the election dates. However, the production house said in its statement, “This decision is taken to give the audience a larger-than-life cinematic experience.” So, the director took a month more to polish the post-production works.

According to reports, the story of Boomerang bears similarities with the film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, played by Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon. However, the director dismissed the speculation and said 'This is a standalone story. We have no contact with those making the Hindi story. We don't know why such rumors are spread. Their film will show

a love story between a human and a robot. Our story is not like that.”

Saurav Das, Debchandrima Sinha Roy, Ambarish Bhattacharya, Kharaj Mukherjee, and Rajatava Dutta will play other key characters in the film. Satyam Bhattacharya was initially supposed to act in the film but was replaced by Sourav due to his eye infection. Soumitrisha Kundu was offered Debchandrima's role, but could not take it due to date clashes with her films.

Rukmini previously worked in the film Switzerland, produced by Jeet. But this time is her debut as Jeet's heroine. Rukmini paired up with Dev most of the time in her career. Hence the audience is eagerly waiting to see the fresh pair.
