Bobby Deol defends marital rape scene in Animal; says, 'It was required, how do you showcase...?'

Bobby Deol has opened up about the marital rape scene in Animal. The actor played the role of Abrar in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film.

Bobby Deol is currently garnering praise for his performance in Animal. The actor essayed the role of antagonist Abrar in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film. While fans are disappointed with his limited scenes in the movie, Bobby left a lasting impression with his screen presence. Although his one scene from Animal has been called out by people, Bobby has defended the marital rape scene.

Bobby Deol defends marital rape scene in Animal

In an interview with The Quint, Bobby Deol was asked about the marital rape scene in Animal. To this, the actor clarified that he is not trying to promote anything. However, Deol said, "Yes, it was required. How do you showcase a character in such a short span, show what this man is capable of, what kind of person he is? All these scenes were required."

Bobby further mentioned that filmmakers are influenced by what is happening in society. According to Deol, whatever is written as a story is an 'influence of what is happening in a society'. He added that as actors, they are just portraying characters and entertaining people.

Bobby Deol vs Ranbir Kapoor in Animal

The epic climax scene between Bobby Deol and Ranbir Kapoor kept the audience on the edge of their seats. The action-packed sequence rolled out on the big screen with the B Praak song Saari Duniya Jala Denge in the background.

About Animal

Sandeep's third film, Animal, did exceptionally well just as his previous projects, Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh. While Bobby is the antagonist, Ranbir plays the role of protagonist Ranvijay Singh the film. On the other hand, the film features Rashmika Mandanna as Geetanjali and Anil Kapoor as Balbir Singh. As far as Triptii Dimri is concerned, the actress is seen as Zoya in Animal.

After the blockbuster success of Animal, the makers have planned to make its sequel, Animal Park. Neetu Kapoor recently hinted that she might be seen with her son Ranbir Kapoor in the second installment of Vanga's movie.
