The trailer for Boat, the upcoming Tamil film starring actor-comedian Yogi Babu in the lead role, was released by the makers on Friday on social media. The film is all set to hit big screens on August 2.

The makers of Boat released the film's trailer on Friday on social media. The film is headlined by Yogi Babu and is directed by filmmaker Chimbudeven, known for making films like Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikecei and Puli.

The trailer begins by saying that the film is set in the year 1943, on October 12. We hear that eight Japanese war planes have returned to bomb the sea after dropping six bombs. The British are on a hunt, while we see a group of people on a boat rowed by Yogi Babu.

Based on a real incident, the survivors on the boat hail from different backgrounds and realise that they have very little water and food to survive on. We see the passengers on the boat indulge in different backgrounds and have concerns of their own. They also get to know that there is one terrorist among them, as they have to decide to sacrifice themselves. The passengers are also threatened with many dangers.

Besides Yogi Babu, the film also stars actors Gouri Kishan, MS Bhaskar, Chinni Jayanth, Madhumitha, Sha Ra, Chaaams, and others in pivotal roles. The technical crew consists of Madhesh Manickam as the cinematographer and Dinesh Ponraj handling the edits. Ghibran has scored the music. Boat is produced by Prabha Premkumar and C Kalaivani under Maali and Maanvi Movie Makers and Chimbudeven Entertainment banners.

Boat is based on a real incident. It is written and directed by filmmaker Chimbudevan. The survival thriller is set to release in theatres on August 2, along with Vascodagama, Pechi, Jama and Mazhai Pidikatha Manithan.

Meanwhile, Yogi Babu was last seen in Disney+ Hotstar series Chutney Sambar directed by Radha Mohan.
