Ali Abbas Zafar's latest film, Bloody Daddy premiered on JioCinema and has been receiving good reviews. The film, featuring Shahid Kapoor in the lead role, made fans feel that it should have been a theatrical release. Now, during an interaction, Ali spoke at length about why he chose the film to be an OTT release.

The filmmaker told Hindustan Times that when viewers describe their work as a "big-screen experience," that's high praise. However, they made it quite apparent that the film tackles issues that are crucial to its narrative. Similar to the drug bag. Second, the implementation is a bit cumbersome. There are firearms, and human blood is spilled. The characters also have their own unique language. People who claim they enjoy Bloody Daddy appreciate its genuineness.

Ali further said that action flicks typically don't fare well with critics. They set out to create a commercially viable and thoroughly believable action flick. That's why there isn't even a single slow-motion view of the action. This is more of a street fight. They would have had to include music in the middle of the story if they had developed it for the big screen. In that case, it would become contaminated. If there is a sequel, they will decide tomorrow whether or not to make it available in theatres.

On being asked if there's a sequel to Bloody Daddy the Bharat helmer stated that the amount of fan support for the protagonist and their setting is always a factor, and it defies a single-day definition of love. It must be extensive, and it's not enough if people are still talking about it a year or even six months after its debut. Then it proves that the audience remembers the film and the character.

Bloody Daddy is the Hindi remake of the French film Sleepless Night which has already been remade in Tamil as Thoongaa Vanam. So, when quizzed about why he decided to remake the film, Ali told the portal that the original film's hook for him was its vulnerable protagonist. How he plans to free his kid from the clutches of the villains is a mystery. Ali needed an actor who could give him both his intense and gentle sides. As a result, Shahid gave the impression that one couldn't decide whether to love or detest the character. As a parent, he fails miserably. The question of whether he is good or evil remains unanswered until the very end. But his actions speak volumes about his character as a parent.
