Bloodhounds actor Kim Sae-ron found dead at 24

South Korean actor Kim Sae-ron, 24, was found dead at her Seoul home. Police found no signs of foul play. Known for The Man from Nowhere she halted her career after a 2022 DUI incident.

Seoul police reported that they discovered South Korean actor Kim Sae-ron, 24, dead at her Seongdong-gu residence on Sunday, February 16.

Friend discovers Kim Sae-ron’s body

As per reports, Kim's friend found her lifeless body at her residence and contacted the authorities at approximately 4:50 p.m. on Sunday. Although they have not found any evidence of a break-in in this report, the police are still trying to determine how she died.

Reports began arriving at the Seoul Seongdong Police Station at approximately 5 p.m. KST, as stated by the authorities.

Police statement on the investigation

As per reports in Soompi, the police source said that they are investigating the exact circumstances of her passing, adding that no traces of criminality, including a break-in, were found.

To honour the deceased and their grieving loved ones, they asked not to speculate on the cause or manner of death. Please know that the police are unable to provide confirmation at this time.

Kim Sae-ron’s acting career

Kim made her acting debut in 2009 after being born in the year 2000. Her breakout roles were in the 2010 thriller The Man from Nowhere and the 2012 suspense feature The Neighbor. Her final piece was Bloodhounds which came out in 2023.

After an incident with drunk driving in May 2022, she essentially put an end to her acting career. In April 2023, she was fined 20 million won, which is $13,850, by a court.

Kim Sae-ron’s apology statement

At the time, Sae-ron posted an apology to her Instagram in reference to her drunk driving episode. Because she was intoxicated, she made a huge error in judgement. Additionally, the actor expressed her most apologies to everyone on set, from fellow actors and crew to production personnel, for the disruption that this incident has caused to the ongoing shooting and preparation of the job.

The late actor sincerely apologizes for any trouble this may have caused. This terrible thing happened for no reason, and she was upset and embarrassed by her error. She gave it a lot of thought to ensure it doesn't happen again.
