The science fiction and political thriller Blood Free is slated to be released on Disney+ Hotstar next month. CEO Han Hyo-joo teams up with bodyguard Ju Ji-hoon to create a new world for human civilization. The makers dropped an intriguing teaser video recently and shared that the original series will premiere on April 10.
In the short teaser clip, we meet the CEO of BF, a biotechnology company that is the pioneer of artificially-cultured meat. Han Hyo-joo stars as a talented but greedy scientist and CEO of BF. She introduces her vision of a new food chain and asks everyone to break free of the existing and dependent food chain. Soon, a new generation of lab-grown meat will dominate the market. However, things turn dark when greed takes over humanity.
Ju Ji-hoon stars as a former navy soldier who takes up the role of security bodyguard for BF’s owner.
Blood Free’s visuals are quite captivating, with a blend of thriller and science fiction. The plot revolves around biotechnology and the dangers that come with development and scientific experiments.
Directed by Park Chul-hwan and written by Lee Soo-yeon (Stranger), the upcoming sci-fi thriller has a stellar cast. Han Hye-joo and Ju Ji-hoon leads the star-studded ensemble that including Lee Hee-joon, Lee Moo-saeng, Park Ji-yeon, Kim Sang-ho, and Jeon Seok-ho.
