In January this year, when director Arvind Shastry released the trailer of his next, Bisi-Bisi Ice-Cream, a film that he’d managed to keep under wraps until then, it was thought that it would be in theatres shortly after. This was also because Arvind released a few songs and a lot of behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the film, only to then go on radio silence again.

Arvind Sastry’s Bisi Bisi Ice Cream brings together a cab driver, an escort and a pimp

He’s back now and with a release date in sight for his film, which stars his Kahi actor Aravinnd Iyer, Siri Ravikumar and Gopalkrishna Deshpande in pivotal roles. Arvind released a new, more action-packed trailer to reveal the release date – Bisi-Bisi Ice-Cream will be in theatres on July 5. The film's been censored U/A with a run time of 2 hours and 13 minutes.

All about Bisi-Bisi Ice-Cream

The film revolves around three main characters, Aravinnd as a cab driver, Gopalkrishna as Manto the pimp and Siri Ravikumar as a high-end escort. According to Arvind, Bisi-Bisi Ice-Cream is about the adventures and misadventures that occur between these three characters.

Bisi-Bisi Ice-Cream's Kuthoohala is all about a mysterious woman played by Siri Ravikumar

“It’s a story of a depressed, lonely, heart-broken cab driver and the transformative journey that he has after meeting this mysterious girl (Siri),” said the filmmaker during the trailer launch, adding that Siri’s character becomes the reason for Aravinnd’s miseries and eventual healing.

He added that although Aravinnd plays a cab driver, Bisi-Bisi Ice-Cream is not a tale that explores his profession. Instead, it is a personal drama about the life of his character. To play the character, Aravinnd had to let go of his healthy eating habits and exercise regimen to look flabby, tired and hassled.

Kirik Party fame Aravinnd was last seen in a cameo in Tatsama Tadbhava, while Siri has had two releases this year, Bachelor Party and O2 that came out recently.
