Bisaat Trailer: Vikram Bhatt’s murder mystery is all about deception and lies

Veteran director Vikram Bhatt is no stranger to thrillers and mysteries. An expert in leaving his audience at the edge-of-their-seat, the director is back with MX Original Series Bisaat. The eight-episode thriller series will stream on MX Player from April 15. The trailer for the series released on April 8.

Starring Omkar Kapoor, Sandeepa Dhar, Leena Jumani and Khalid Siqqui, Bisaat is a thrilling whodunit murder mystery that begins with a murder. The plot of the series traces the life of Dr. Kiyana Verma (Dhar) who is a dedicated psychiatrist. When she begins consulting on a new case of Radhika Kapoor (Jumani), a woman who claims that she is in an abusive relationship with her husband Yash Kapoor (Siddiqui), Kiyana delves deeper into the life of Yash.

Dr. Abhijit Joshi (Omkar), Kiyana’s husband, advises her not to carry out her own investigations but she does not cave. Soon, Yash, who is a business tycoon, is brutally murdered. All evidences of the murder point to Dr. Kiyana. This leads to startling revelations, wicked blackmail and a thrilling chase to find the real murderer.

Discussing the series, director Vikram Bhatt explained his passion behind making thrillers. Calling Bisaat a tricky game, Bhatt cautions the audience to expect the unexpected.

",Thriller, as a genre, has always captivated me as a viewer which is why I often tend to portray that on screen. As a storyteller, I enjoy cranking the tension up to its maximum and have audiences engrossed in the journey of my characters. Bisaat is a tricky game that involves exposés, high stakes and emotional wreckage that promises to have you expecting the unexpected. The cast has done a fabulous job and I hope to work with each of them again", said the director.

Actor Sandeepa Dhar revealed that she found the narrative riveting, especially since Bhatt’s style of storytelling is full of lies, deceit and desperation in Bisaat.

Elaborating on her role, Dhar stated that she had to put in a fair bit of preparation and imbibe a sense of extreme calmness. Calling the series a great learning curve, Dhar said that she had to work on her demeanour for a month before the shoot.

Actor Omkar Kapoor shared that the series is special for him for two reasons - the script and the chance to work with Vikram Bhatt. Calling Bhatt a fantastic narrator and director, Kapoor claimed that he always brings out the best in his actors.

Bisaat also stars Jia Mustafa, Coral Bhamra, Ashmita Bakshi, Trishaan Maini and Tanvi Thakkar. Viewers can watch it online for free at MX Player from April 15.
