Binodini: Ekti Natir Upakhyan teaser – All eyes on Rukmini Maitra

Rukmini Maitra's upcoming film "Binodini: Ekti Natir Upakhyan" is set to release soon after the shooting ended in March 2023.

In 2022, Rukmini Maitra stunned everyone with her look as Binodini Dasi. We have extensively reported that she will play the protagonist in Ram Kamal Mukherjee's film Binodini: Ekti Natir Upakhyan. The shooting ended in March 2023. After a long wait and speculations, the film will be released soon. A teaser was released in which Rukmini Maitra dazzled.  

Yesterday, Dev, Rukmini, and others announced that the teaser for the film will be out on Thursday. The teaser sends out a vibe of a magnum opus. It shows a grand set-up with Rukmini helming the film, and it shows glimpses of her life. Kaushik Ganguly plays Girish Ghosh, her mentor.  

Rahul Bose plays Rangababu, Mir plays Gurmukh Singh, and Om Sahni plays Kumar Bahadur. The teaser shows a strong and wilful Binodini Dasi who says, "I worship theater." She also says, "I am not for sale. My acting may be for sale. Buy tickets to see my acting. Come to see my acting, not me. But never come to buy Binodini Dasi.”  

Binodini Dasi was a spectacular actress from the 19th century who was deprived of the recognition she deserved. She helped develop the iconic Star Theatre but was never acknowledged enough for her contribution. She came from a red-light area and debuted on stage at a young age. In a short acting career of twelve years, she garnered a lot of critical acclaim. Musician duo Sorendra and Soumyajit are the music composers of the film.
