The movie, which also has Divya Pillai and Shanthipriya as the female protagonists, is set to go on floors on April 16
Director Deepu Anthikad is gearing up for his next directorial, which has Biju Menon and Guru Somasundaram in the lead. The upcoming movie, which is touted to be about a police officer and a thief, is set to go on floors on April 16.
The film will mark Biju Menon’s second venture this year after Oru Thekkan Thallu Case. Guru, who had shot to fame in Mollywood playing the antagonist in Tovino Thomas’ Minnal Murali, will be teaming up with the veteran actor for the first time. The makers are yet to reveal who will be playing the cop and the thief in the upcoming movie, which also has Divya Pillai and Shanthipriya as the female protagonists.
Reports also suggest whoever plays a cop in the entertainer won’t be wearing the khaki and boots. The shoot of the film, which also has Alencier Ley Lopez, Sheelu Abraham and Prasanth Alexander, is set to begin in Kuttikanam soon. Deepu had previously helmed Lucky Star, which had Jayaram and Rachana Narayanankutty in the lead.
Meanwhile, Biju Menon is also part of Thankam, which has Vineeth Sreenivasan as the other protagonist. The crime drama, scripted by Syam Pushkaran, is also set to go on floors soon. In a recent interview with OTTplay, the actor had told us about how he has become more selective with his projects post the success of Ayyappanum Koshiyum in 2020.
The pandemic has been a challenging period for the film industry, he said, adding that he has to choose to be part of a lot of small-budget movies as not all films were getting theatrical releases. “So, that would probably be the major changes in the story selection, otherwise, what I have always prioritised is choosing the good stories,” said the actor, who was last seen in the direct-to-OTT release Lalitham Sundaram that is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
