The most awaited fifth season of Bigg Boss Tamil will stream on Disney+ Hotstar from October 3, at 6pm. The team behind the show has been coming up with regular promos of late, to hold the interest of the show's fans. The recent promo which they released had its host Kamal Haasan cooking even as he talks about how exciting the latest season is going to be.

A short promo released by the makers on Wednesday has Kamal reminding the fans that it is just a matter of four days before the reality show begins. He said, "They are asking if the Bigg Boss house is a good house. Every house is good if we behave properly. Four days to go."

As the team is yet to come up with an official list of its contestants, many ardent fans of the show have been speculating names which are going viral on social media. The latest names that are doing the rounds with regard to the contestant list are that of actor Varun and senior actor Nizhalgal Ravi. Actresses Priya Raman and Kausalya's names also surfaced on social media apart from YouTuber Abishek and Imman Annachi, though none of them seem to be officially confirmed.

Aari Arujunan emerged the winner of fourth season of the show, while Arav, Rythvika and Mugen Rao were chosen as the winners of the first, second and third seasons respectively. Oviya, Raiza Wilson, Harish Kalyan, Kavin and Losliya among others are a few who gained huge fan base with the show, while Gayatri Raghuram, Julie and Shakti among a few earned the wrath of the viewers. The fifth season of Bigg Boss Tamil was initially supposed to begin from June this year, but got postponed due to the second wave of the pandemic.
